Olivia Smith:

Just finished The Searcher by Tana French. Riveting, great mystery and the main character reminded me a little of Gamache, not his background but how he thinks, dogged, compassionate and introspective. Tana French really gets into the psychological behavior of her characters. One of my favorite writers – enjoy her style! And I like the setting in Ireland. The Searcher is an excellent book. I love her writing style, very similar to Louise Penny’s in it’s perfect description of Ireland. One can see, hear, smell, and touch the surroundings with her words. She is a character driven writer who also builds in a crime to be solved. Highly recommend.

    1. The Searcher and The Hunter are a series of two with The Searcher being the first book. I would strongly advise you read those in order. I have read a couple of the other books out of sequence and did not find it particularly problematic. I think you would love her writing.
