Recommendation
Martha Grimes’ mysteries with Richard Jury and Melrose Plant are well written and entertaining. I enjoy them for their whimsical humor, quirky characters, as well as the mystery. There are many literary references from Shakespeare and others. And Cyril the cat is a great character! Lots of tongue-in-cheek humor, especially in dialogues between detective Richard Jury and his pal, Melrose Plant (aka Lord Ardry who has given up his title.) Start at the beginning, ” The Man with a Load of Mischief”.
