The Sentence by Louise Erdrich is a book lover’s book. My favourite read this year. It was hard to get through the first chapter and I almost gave up, but then I pushed on and got thoroughly hooked. The first chapter sets up the story of the main character, so don’t give up!! Hang in there, or try again if you dropped it, this is a fantastic book. The characters are absolutely incredible. There are many twists and turns in the second half and there is so much to think about. Now I can see that this was a fascinatingly amazing book, weaving so many stories together beautifully. It’s a very hard book to describe, but what a interesting and entertaining story. Louise Erdich is an incredible author. She even has a character who works in a bookstore and mentions Louise Penny and Donna Leon, two of my favorite authors!!
