Fool me once. Fool me twice. Three times? Sure. Yep, I get fooled a lot by B.A. Paris’ novels when I read them, which is why I love them and recommend them to my friends. I enjoy all the clever misdirects that she weaves into her books and she’s very good at setting up her mysteries that then unspool in a rollercoaster ride of unexpected twists. She is great at drawing you in and then has you biting your nails with the scary situations her characters find themselves in. I find myself yelling at them in frustration sometimes too, all part of the fun. She has great pacing and is very good at ratcheting up the tension and then doing a bait and switch. Anyway, the books are great vacation reads too because they are standalones and entertaining.
