My husband, younger daughter and I stayed here in the late 1990’s in March. The weather was bone chilling cold to me but we had a wonderful time and this hotel is just amazing. On our subsequent visits, we have had to content ourselves with a drink and potato chips in the bar and gazing out at the St. Lawrence River. Most definitely a place to see and visit even if one cannot lodge there.
Lovely! I can just imagine you enjoying a snack with the view and having a relaxing time with your family. By the way Jane, what time of the year are you planning your Toronto trip? It can be suffocatingly hot and humid in the summer or freezing cold in the winter. And, I think you might be a foodie, so I’ll mention the TV show Top Chef. Do you watch it? The chefs are very talented and the cuisine is typically very high end. It is apparently filming in Toronto and airing in the spring, so you might glean some local knowledge on good spots to dine from the show.
Thanks so much. If it works for this fall, we are looking at September or late October-early November. We are foodies in the sense that the highlight of our travels is what we find to eat. Unfortunately, we do not own a TV. My older daughter is a devoted follower of Top Chef so I will need to get her input.
