What burning questions, observations, or comments do you want to share?

I have one question. “Will there be another book (after “The Hunter”) in this series?” I certainly hope so. I find Cal a nuanced and engaging character and look forward to learning more. I look forward to seeing Trey move on with her life and create a path out of the poverty of her family. I enjoy the community and the landscape. Tana French crafts a great story and wonderful characters. It was a great read.

I still need to read The Hunter first, but I too hope that this will be a long series Jane! One comment is that the audiobook is excellent and I’d highly recommend a listen for anyone here who read a print copy.

Katherine, thanks for the recommendation to consider the audiobook. I am a very visual consumer but I am sure there is a depth of understanding that come with hearing a story too.

I’ll definitely be reading the Hunter given how much I enjoyed the Searcher and our discussion, plus everyone is recommending it, so I can’t wait to enjoy it. I initially thought the Searcher had a rather simple story but realized it’s deceptively simple and the characters are so vibrant and rich. It’s the first book by Tana French that I’ve read and it won’t be my last because I think she’s a powerful writer.

The discussions we’ve had in this group have been quite surprising for me with respect to how thought-provoking many of the threads have been. As with The Frozen River and The Grey Wolf, the comments for The Search from my BCF friends have opened new windows where I once only saw walls. And cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate this community of thoughtful, well-spoken readers who participate in these discussions and provide opportunity for me to enjoy books on a deeper level and with new perspectives I would never have considered after reading these books alone. Thank you my friends. I have never loved books more than I do now, and I appreciate the talent these authors offer more than ever.
