Hundreds rallied in Augusta, ME yesterday in support of Gov. Janet Mills, who stood up to Trump at a White House event. Mills’ statement, “we’ll see you in court,” was a rallying cry for demonstrators, who chanted and held signs with the phrase.
We are starting to see more rifts in the administration team. After an email was sent to federal workers demanding they list five things they worked on this week, staff at the CDC, Dept. of Energy, FBI, IRS, State Dept. and others were told not to comply by their management. One Dept. of Defense official said: “It is the silliest thing I’ve seen in 40 years.”
Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) made this statement, “There’s no Article 4 in the Constitution that gives Elon Musk that authority…the way he’s been ‘delegated’ this authority is illegal…the actions he’s taking are illegal…we need to shut down this illegal operation.”
US Rep. Jasmine Crockett stressed the importance of Democrats fighting to win the upcoming House special elections. Crockett emphasizes the need to work towards change and to keep hope alive, despite any doubt, “I at least want to try…I remember a time when there was a man by the name of Doug out of Alabama in a special election, and because things were so bad, we were able to take that seat.”
