Lucy Foley

Lucy Foley was born on August 16, 1986 in Sussex, England. She is known for her mystery thrillers and contemporary and historical fiction. She says that she began writing through her love of reading.

Lucy studied English literature at University College London and Durham University and worked as a bookseller, literary scout, literary agent’s assistant, and a fiction editor at Headline Publishing Group and Hodder & Stoughton before she became a full-time novelist.

Her 2015 debut novel, The Book of Lost and Found, was acquired for a six-figure sum by HarperCollins. That novel was followed by The Invitation and Last Letter from Istanbul, all multi-generational family dramas. A big Agatha Christie fan, Lucy turned to writing a mystery with The Hunting Party, her first thriller. Her next mystery thriller, The Guest List, became an international sensation and catapulted her to the top of the New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller lists. The Paris Apartment followed. Her most recent mystery novel, The Midnight Feast was inspired by “trips to the West Country and local folklore.”
