The World of Three Pines
While reading the Gamache series, I had been thinking about painting my interpretation of Three Pines. Since I could not paint the whole town, I picked three aspects that are very close to my heart: Myrna’s bookstore, Olivier’s bistro and the bench at the Village Green where Ruth and Gamache solve the problems of the world.
My tribute to Louise Penny’s Three Pines. Acrylic paintings. 🥰
About Helene Letnick:
Born and raised in the suburbs of Montreal, Quebec, I lived in Banff for 18 years before moving to Kelowna, BC in 1999. My love for colour, drama and texture is expressed through the use of acrylic and mixed media and art is driven by a high level of emotion and is inspired by the world around me. If one word could describe my journey as an artist it would be “Exploration”. “ I view the world through enthusiasm, joy and passion”
This triptych captures Three Pines so well and is so different from what I imagine! I’ve always pictured the mountains and village of Three Pines a bit somberly coloured in my mind. Grey, dark evergreen, black and brown like the Canadian wilderness can be. But you’ve made it so warm and inviting and vibrant.
Thank you so much Misty. I appreciate your comment. I completely painted these with the emotions I had for Three Pines and had no idea what the end result would be. I am glad the colours are vibrant too. 🤗
I love the amount of detail you put into your work! It is vibrant and alive!
