Did you enjoy this discussion? Do you think there is value in doing another pop-up? What burning questions, observations, or comments do you want to share? Has this book or this discussion inspired you to make any changes or to take any kind of action? What would be the most effective way to share the knowledge that you acquired with others?

I hope everyone enjoyed our first ever pop-up discussion. I’m looking forward to hearing what you all thought of it. Was it helpful? For me, I found everyone’s input and answers educational and inspiring. Even though it’s disheartening to see the majority of the lessons in On Tyranny being so relevant and timely, I take strength in the fact that there are people like us who are taking steps to educate themselves and are resisting in whatever ways they can. It’s made me much more vigiliget of what our politicians are saying here in Canada and I watch the media and social media coverage with a far more skeptical eye as we’re not immune from the misinformation and far right narratives. I certainly will be recommending the book to my friends and offering to discuss it with them and also sharing the advice and insights you all have shared during our discussion.

I’m sorry I’m late in replying, but I wanted to let you know that I did enjoy the pop-up discussion. I thought the book was a great reference and a perfect read for these times, and would welcome more such suggestions to read. What I’m finding is that I (like Jane) had trouble keeping up the pace with the 3 different book discussions we’d been doing, especially while trying to keep active with current events (and other life things). I found I was sitting in front of the computer way too much. I’m a slow thinker and a slow writer, and right now, there’s so much I need to keep up on that I think I’m going to have to find a happy medium. I do want to keep reading good sources like On Tyranny, and love reading the other good books(both fictional and non) that have been recommended, and have appreciated learning other insights from the group. Politically, you give me inspiration and determination to keep trying, and not give up. And in other ways, you also give me a good laugh when I need one, and a reminder that goodness exists! So if another pop-up is suggested, I would certainly look into it, and do what I can to be involved. And I still love our other discussions, too.

My only regret about the pop-up discussion here is that I did not have the time to join both here and on Facebook. I could scan responses there and I know some were from people who have historically contributed deeply thoughtful and insightful comments.

That is because I am up to my ears in other commitments.

It was challenging to have three discussions at the same time. The format of “On Tyranny” lent itself well to a very focused discussion.

The comments on this discussion were incredibly informative. The view of the topic, tyranny, from readers living in Canada and how the political landscape looks in the U.S. provided a great balance and perspective. There is absolutely value in doing pop-up book discussions.

Thank you for sponsoring this enlightening discussion. While I did not always reply I read every response on this sight and FB and learned a lot from all the comments. I found it particularly informative to read the view point of our situation from Canada’s side. Sometimes, as I have said before, I can’t see the forest for the trees.

This discussion served to help me stay in the game when I was feeling a bit apathetic and wanting to quit being a resister. Thank you for being my mentor.

I would certainly consider participating in another pop up discussion should you choose to have one. I am very much aware of the time you have spent on this and appreciate every minute you devoted to the discussion.

I’m happy to hear you found our Canadians’ points of view informative along with all the others who participated. I know I found your insights helpful and informative too, Jane and Libby.

Thank you all for participating in this pop-up discussion. I deeply appreciate the insights and new perspectives shared. This discussion would not have happened without your initial enthusiasm, so all credit goes to you for spreading the lessons in this book to a new, broader audience of resistors who are now more engaged in our fight against tyranny.

I apologize for slipping out of the front end of our discussions – I’ve had a sudden family crisis to deal with – but I have been here with you in spirit every single day from the admin end of the discussions and I am so grateful to you all.
