As a nod to our discussion, here is another aspect of literacy. Constantly evolving slang. I just walked past a group of boys, maybe 14 years in age, and this is what I heard, "Dude, that is the drippiest drip of all time." I have no idea what message he is conveying in the slightest. Any guesses without Google? Or even with Google, I still am not sure.
How many of the green terms in this image do you recognize or knew the meaning of without looking at the blue definitions?

I have absolutely zero idea what this means but I can think of some folks I would describe in that way, IMHO!

I have no idea whatsoever. Not around teenagers any more.
Even knowing the meaning and understanding how to use the terms properly in a sentence, I would feel a bit silly trying to communicate with these terms. Language can be a strange thing sometimes!
Ha– no idea whatsoever what that sentence means! As for your picture — I only knew 2 for sure; had a vague idea about 4 of them; totally clueless about the rest! (and full disclosure: I had no idea what YOLO meant a few years ago, but there was a local restaurant around here by that name, and I had to ask them what it meant! They looked at me with pity….)
