FBI agent Kate O’Hare and charming criminal Nick Fox are the principal characters in the Fox and O’Hare thriller series. Kate O’Hare is fiercely dedicated to her job and determined to catch Nick Fox, an international con-man and “gentleman” thief. The two are unexpectedly forced to work together, and sparks fly. The series features an assortment of funny and eccentric supporting characters and villains that recur throughout the story.

Janet Evanovich works with several co-authors in the Fox and O’Hare series, which means the tone and focus of the books shift somewhat as the series progresses. The first five novels (and two novellas, Pros and Cons and The Shell Game) are co-written with Lee Goldberg and are primarily comedic heist adventures. The Big Kahuna (Book 6) is co-written with Peter Evanovich (Janet’s son), and Steve Hamilton is the co-author of The Bounty (Book 7), which is more of a light thriller than a funny heist story.

Although the books can be read in any order, readers recommend starting the series at the beginning to fully follow Fox and O’Hare’s relationship dynamics. The short stories The Shell Game (Book 0.1) and Pros and Cons (Book 0.5) are both prequels to the ongoing series.
